Lifeexplorer | Can any previous auction consignors help with this question: what are the average waiting times consignors have to wait before receiving payment from auctions?
|
stsmithva | From my limited experience, between 1-2 months seems to be the norm. Steve |
gliderpilotuk | Nearer the latter in my experience Paul |
spaceflori | 6 weeks seems to be the usual time - at least according to most consignor contracts. However most auction house leave a little backdoor open when the winner of a lot doesn't pay in time they won't pay you in time. Lifeexplorer | Many thanks to all who responded to my question. Very much appreciated. |
benguttery | I just have to tell this story about old style auctions. I inquired by mail with this one company if they were interested in this material I had. They replied back by mail that they were. I shipped it all off to them. There were several more iterations of their catalog before my stuff got listed. It was sold and I eventually was paid. It's just a guess, but I think it was about 9 months beginning to end. The process has greatly improved. |
benguttery | A modern story: sent Lunar Legacies my consignment items in January. Got paid the first week of April. 90 day range between sending items and receiving check is impressive. |
lm5eagle | Here is a very impressive timeline from Lunar Legacies: Auction on March 14th; payment into my account on 9th April. It doesn't get better than that. Many thanks Donnis. Andy |
